  • 1B Rider & Pedestrian Electric and ICE Static Boom – Trailer mount, van mount, lorry mount and spider lift, cannot drive elevated.
  • 3A Rider Electric and ICE Mobile Vertical – Can drive elevated
  • 3B Rider Electric and ICE Mobile Boom – Can drive elevated

Abbreviations: I.C.E. = Internal Combustion Engine Diesel or LPG powered. Electric = Battery powered. Pedestrian = Walk with. Ride On = Seated Position. Stand On = Stand on Platform

Forklift truck training

The information below is a guide for Counterbalance or Reach Truck courses:

1 Day Certified Experienced Course – Refresher Course
This course is designed to give the trained Certificated Truck Operator whose certificate is due for renewal a refresher training day on skills that he/she should have learnt when they first qualified. Maximum number of students per course is 3.

2 Day Conversion Course i.e. has Certificate for Counterbalance and now requires Reach Certificate
This course is designed to give the trained Certificated Truck Operator a new certificate to drive a different type of truck to which he/she was originally trained. Maximum number of students per course is 3.

2-3 Day Experienced Course but not Certificated
This course is designed for the Truck Operator whom has had no formal certificated training but has had extensive practical training. They must be competent in all aspects of operating the machine they are to be trained on. Number of days required for this course is dependent on the number of students. Maximum number of students per course is 3.

3-5 Day Novice Course
This course is designed for the Novice Student who has no operational skills on any type of manual handling equipment. Number of days required for this course is dependent on the number of students. Maximum number of students per course is 3.

1 day Lift Truck Awareness Course
This course is designed for the Managers, Supervisors and Health and Safety Managers who are responsible for staff that use lifting equipment within their work place. The course can be expanded to include staff that work or use the area where lift equipment is used which will ensure that all staff going into the working area are aware of the dangerous environment they are entering. Maximum number of students per course is 12.
